IOS members are invited to join Sam Burchhardt and Richard Wilson at their home and lodge in Iosco County, Michigan to see Kirtland’s Warbler and other birds on their breeding grounds in northeastern Michigan. With 130-150- specied possible, other specialty birds that might be seen on the trip include Upland Sandpiper, Grasshopper Sparrow, Bobolink, Common Raven, American Bittern, Ruffed Grouse, and 25+ warbler species. Breeding Sandhill Crane with colts and Trumpeter Swan with cygnets have also been present on the property in recent years.
Accommodations are in the Burckhardt/Wilson house and adjacent lodge on their private property.
