Calling all Hardcore Shorebirders!
Floods be dammed, so to speak, join IOS for a condensed version of our annual August Shore-birding Weekend. Due to the flooding and some inability for FWS to make timely repairs, the Chautauqua area was too unpredictable for us to host our grand event this year. Access to certain areas, which we typically use for this event, could not be promised.
Colin Dobson and Tyler Funk will be leading a group of die hard birders to search for shorebirds in the Havana Area. We will likely cap registration at about 20-30 people. This field trip is $5 for IOS members and and $30 for non-members. A lunch selection is available during registration.
We will start the day at 7:00am at the Dixon Mounds Museum. Field trips will be arranged by Colin and me for the morning and afternoon sessions. We will break for lunch at the museum classroom and will also receive an excellent Rallid Research presentation by Daniel Goldberg.
