REGISTRATION OPEN
SPRING BIRDING WEEKEND MAY 31, JUNE 1 & JUNE 2, 2013
Mount Sterling, Siloam Springs State Park Brown and adjacent Counties
Field Trips to: Siloam Springs State Park
Wetland and Prairie Restoration Areas
Come join us for a weekend of birding activities, visiting with new and old birding friends, see new habitats in a new area of the state, enjoy the breeding birds, an evening social – banquet good food, local wine, entertainment and hear research results from our grant program.
Special Guest Star Anticipated: Bewick's Wren
We will venture to an “under birded” region of the state and search for the very local and state endangered Bewick’s Wren. There may be only a few dozen pairs in the state and now appear to be limited to a small area in southeast Adams and southwest Brown counties. Once very common in the southern part of the state its changing distribution and population decline has been dramatic and is poorly understood.
